Mark Dean

Mark Dean was born in March 2nd, 1956 and he is still alive today, at the age of 67. He took his education very seriously, earning all the way up to his doctorate degree. Mark Dean earned all his degrees in electrical engineering. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. He earned his master’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida Atlantic University. And lastly, he earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. In addition to his education, Dean’s most recent awards include the Ronald H. Brown American Innovators Award, the University of Tennessee COE Dougherty Award, Black Engineer of the Year, and many more. Mark Dean helped develop a color monitor for the personal computer (PC) and he also created the first one gigahertz computer processor chip which helped PCs work faster. He developed the ISA bus which allowed for peripheral devices to be connected to the motherboard of the computer. His contributions still affect the world of computers and technology today.
